Over 300,000 disposable nappies (equivalent) processed each week at our South Wales site According to accepted statistics, the average weight of a used disposable nappy is around 195g.  Over the first two and a half years of a child’s life, an average child will use approximately 4.16 nappies per day, thereby generating around 6kg of nappy waste per week - or 780kgs within these first few years. From used nappies to acoustic panelling & even table tops After we treat and process the nappies and absorbent hygiene products, the cellulose fibre is separated and used to produce fibre boards and acoustic panelling (examples of which we have at our offices).  We then send the plastics, including latex, nitrile, vinyl etc. to secondary re-processors for recycling. Natural UK has just been awarded the contract for the provision of clinical waste collections from domestic households in the Hywel Dda University Health Board region. The Health Board was established on 1 October 2009 from the merger of the Hywel Dda NHS Trust, the Pembrokeshire Local Health Board, Ceredigion Local Health Board and Carmarthenshire Local Health Board and provides healthcare services to a total population of around 372,320 throughout Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Introducing our nappy recycling process

We are delighted to announce NappiCycle, the exciting new waste recovery process that we now offer to local authorities throughout the UK. The Welsh Assembly Government's policy framework, Towards Zero Waste, aims to reduce dependency on landfill and specifically targets biodegradable waste in landfill sites, such as Nappies, Adult Incontinence pads and Feminine Hygiene products (AHP's). The report highlights that by 2025, there will be a significant reduction in waste (of around 27% of 2007 levels) and any waste that is produced must be managed in a way that makes the most of our valuable resources.
